How can I pay for my Ballot reservation?

The payment deadline for successful Ticket Ballot offers in the final phase of the Ticket Ballot selection process is 5 PM (UK Time) on Wednesday 25 September. Payments for Ticket Ballot offers must be completed by this time. If payment has not been received by the above time and date your ticket offer will be cancelled, and the tickets will no longer be available to you.


Fans will be offered tickets in waves from the middle of August until the end of September. At the time of notification, fans will be informed of the payment deadline to secure their tickets and provided with instructions on how to make payment.

 

Each payment window will be up to 7 days long. If the tickets have not been paid for prior to the payment deadline, the tickets will be forfeited and  will no longer be available for purchase.


Fans may choose to purchase the tickets offered in full or ignore the offer and accompanying payment reminders if they no longer wish to purchase. Fans cannot select tickets within their offer. All tickets, including complimentary Junior tickets, must be applied for as part of the Ticket Ballot process, within the limit of 4 tickets per day. No changes will be made following the closure of the application period.


Reservations for tickets won through the Ticket Ballot for The Open can be paid for online using a Mastercard or VISA Debit or Credit Card. Other card types cannot be accepted. Payment can also be made using Apple Pay when paying from a suitable device.

Please see the instructions below on how to pay for your Ballot reservation. 


  1. Go to TheOpen.com .
  2. Sign in using your email and password. Please ensure that you log in using the same email address used to enter the Ballot.
  3. Click the profile icon and select 'My Account' 
  4. Select the yellow 'See Details and Pay' button below 'Actions for you to perform'.
  5. Acknowledge the Mastercard discount code message by clicking PAY.
  6. You will be presented with a summary of the ticket(s) which you have been offered via the Ballot. 
  7. If you are using a Mastercard to pay for your reservation, courtesy of Mastercard, claim a £5 discount on your order by entering the promotional code MASTERCARD153 and paying with your Mastercard at the checkout pages.
    Please note: If you do not enter the Mastercard discount code at this time you will not be able to claim the Mastercard discount as it cannot be applied after payment is complete.

  8. After reading the Terms and Conditions, click the check box to agree
  9. Click the yellow “Proceed to Payment” button to continue.
  10. Enter your card details and click “Pay Now”


If your payment details are accepted, you will be shown the message “Your Order Has Been Processed” 

Please note that this does not mean that your payment has been completed. Once payment has been taken, you will receive an email from The Open confirming your order.


Your order will only be confirmed once payment has been processed and you have received a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, payment has not been successful.
