Can I park my car at The Open?

Modified on Mon, 9 Jun at 2:52 PM

All public car parking will be located at The Open Park & Ride facilities, where dedicated buses will be available to transport spectators arriving by car or motorbike to the course.

Parking tickets will be available to purchase on arrival at a cost of £17 per day, per vehicle from Sunday 13 to Tuesday 15 July, and £22 per day, per vehicle from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 July. A £5 discount will be applied to tickets purchased in advance (up to the day before).

One car parking ticket will be suitable for one vehicle per day and all the passengers within the vehicle.

Where are the Car Parks?

For The 153rd Open we will have a number of Park & Ride locations.

It is The R&A's policy not to share the precise locations of our Park & Ride facilities. This is due to a combination of factors including operational reasons related to car park capacity and weather (the on-site team may close or open facilities depending on the situation on the day), for security reasons, and because there will be local travel restrictions and road closures in place which may cause navigation issues. In addition, many of the Park & Ride facilities are often located in fields and other areas which may not have addresses.

Therefore, we advise spectators to drive towards Portrush and follow the signage for parking. On all roads approaching the town, there will be Variable Messaging Signs (VMS) and specific black and yellow event signs provided by The AA to ensure that drivers are directed to the most appropriate car park, depending on the direction they are travelling from, the type of parking pass they have and the operational situation on the day.
