We are a charity, can we apply for tickets to use in an auction or raffle to raise money?

Modified on Fri, 6 Sep at 10:23 AM

The R&A welcomes requests from individuals and charities who wish to raise funds for good causes, and as such donates a set number of tickets to The Open each year which can be used as auction or raffle items for this purpose.

Unfortunately, due to the high number of requests that The R&A receives each year, we cannot accommodate all requests. We therefore require individuals to submit a Charity Ticket Request Form for charity ticket requests to be considered.

Please note the following:

  1. If your request is accepted, The R&A will contact you by email to confirm within six weeks of the request.
  2. Requests should therefore be made at least seven weeks prior to the fundraising event, and be submitted no later than 30 April 2025.
  3. Tickets cannot be used as prizes at events (for example prizes for charity golf days), and therefore any such requests will not be accepted. The R&A donates tickets on the basis of looking to raise as much money for charities as possible, and therefore auctions and raffle prizes are preferred.
  4. Only tickets donated by The R&A via this process can be used to raise money for charities/good causes. Any individuals, organisations or charities who sell tickets that have not been donated by The R&A for this specific purpose, would be in breach of the ticketing Terms & Conditions and as such these tickets may be cancelled.

The Charity Ticket Request Form can be found here.
